THE BEST SHAMPOO BAR

Oh my gosh… our current limited edition shampoo bar is one of my favorite recent creations.  I thought that I would never find a bar that I love more than our Herb & Soil for hair, but this might just be it.  Just a quick rub of the bar down my hair, and a lather up with my hands unleashes suds like no other bar.  Here are a few featured ingredients in this bar, and why they help to create the ultimate shampoo bar.

Essential Oils  Rosemary + Patchouli essential oil are both well known for lending their herbal benefits to hair.  Patchouli specifically softens and smooths hair, balances oils to give your hair exactly what it needs.  Rosemary essential oil stimulates hair growth, works on dandruff and really gives your hair a good cleanse.  It is known to soften as well, but we feel that patchouli is really what does the trick there.

Fullers Earth Clay Fullers earth clay (also known as multani mitti clay) works to absorb oils from the hair and skin.  It is used frequently in dry shampoo recipes – we love using clay in many of our soap bars because it gives the soap a smooth and silky feel as you use it (its also fantastic for adding natural color to soap).

Goats Milk Soap Recipe One of my favorite things about this bar is the lather.  Goats Milk Soap always provides a lot of smooth, creamy lather – an essential ingredient in the best shampoo and shave bars.  These recipes are always moisture rich, providing your skin with moisture and nutrients to feel happy and healthy.  Our goats milk is hand-milked fresh daily from our herd of Nigerian Dwarf Goats.

Activated Charcoal  We used activated charcoal in this recipe mainly to achieve the graduating color scheme you see on the bars (isnt it pretty!!?).  Activated charcoal is known to remove toxins and impurities – generally it binds these things to itself through electrical charge and allows them to wash through/out the body.
