Old Factory’s Shampoo Bar Base Recipe

Like all of our soap recipes – we first develop our “base recipe” – aka the saponified oil blend that makes up our bars before adding any extra ingredients like essential oils, herbs and botanicals. When developing a base recipe, its important to balance the bar hardness with its ability to lather and moisturize. This shampoo bar base was specifically designed to sustain a rich lather while imparting moisture to hair while it cleanses. We spotlight two ingredients in our shampoo bar base recipe – organic almond and organic castor oils in addition to our regular four base oils found in all of our recipes (olive, coconut, flaxseed, and shea butter). We think youll love this bar, it leaves our hair soft, smooth and silky – and the lather while washing is nothing short of spectacular.
