Lemon In The Pines – Limited Edition Soap

Lemon and pine essential oil with a hint of vanilla – our first limited edition soap of 2025. This bar was born through a request from a friend – noting that his friend loved the smell of pine sol, but wanted a natural version. We thought, “what a good limited edition for January”…..and this soap was made. We put in a bit of ground almond for an exfoliating touch, and some red clay swirls to give the bar an extra silky lather.

Here we are, in mid February and we have already sold through the first batch and have made a second – this bar is turning out to be quite popular.  I think these scents were a wise request for the dead of winter – both lemon and pine essential oils are helpful in relieving the symptoms of winter colds, congestions and coughs. Lemon essential oil is a bright, fresh scent, aromatherapy suggests that it is helpful in reducing anxiety and depression. Sometimes we find ourselves needing a little something to lift us up through the dead of winter, and this bar may be helpful for that.

Jonathan designed the label for this limited edition soap with a new program he has been trying out called Affinity. Since his old computer has finally been retired, we had to switch from photoshop to something else – and so far affinity has been great. I love how this label came out, and the look of bar itself matches the bathroom in our rental house perfectly (a happy accident that made taking photos of this soap super easy).

Its truly winter here in our new home, here in Hot Springs North Carolina. We look out onto the snowy mountain and the only trees that have any green to them are the pines. Our goats dont mind the snow as much as I thought they would, its still the rain they hate. If it rains, they run back to their shelter. They are getting used to the colder winter, but much like them, I am looking forward to spring. 

Anyhow, we hope you give our lemon in the pines soap a try – its based in our olive oil recipe (always organic olive oil, organic coconut oil, organic flaxseed oil, organic shea butter), so it has a good stable lather boosted with some red clay, green indigo and of course- naturally scented with lemon and pine essential oil, and a strong vanilla extract.
