texas monthly magazine features old factory in texas made collection
Texas has a unique culture of creating sustainability and community growth by supporting both its people and its independent businesses. We are proud to be part of that culture.
Texas Monthly Magazine is also part of that culture, this year featuring 50 Texas Made products on their holiday gift shop. We feel honored to be chosen as one of those 50 makers from Texas. They chose to highlight three products that exemplify Texas – I couldn’t agree more with their choices.
- Teak & Steel Stainless Steel Razor with interchangeable Mach 3 Razor heads. This product was a collaboration between two Texas businesses, Blanco Texas based Old Factory and an Austin based woodworker. The handle is made from sustainably, organically grown Teak wood – grown on the pacific coast of Mexico (teak is native to Southeast Asia but Mexico has a similar tropical growing climate). Teak is known for its durability, longevity, and its resistance to wear and tear making it the perfect choice for bathroom use.
- Teak & Badger Hair Shaving Brush Made with the same sustainably, organically grown Teak wood as our Teak & Steel Razor, this product provides a sturdy lather for the wet – shaver.
- Goats Milk Soap Sampler We like to think of our goats milk sampler as our “Texas Farmhouse” sampler. All of the scents are Texas inspired, from Field & Flower – an ode to our beautiful hill country springtimes, to Sea & Foam – reminiscent of coastal rain. This sample set features many ingredients grown in Texas – from our Wild Crafted juniper berries in Herb & Soil to our Mint & Mary topped by organically grown mint from Johnsons Backyard Garden.
We encourage you to shop the Texas Monthly Magazine shop this holiday season, to find our products as well as many other Texas makers.
