Here in Central Texas its two weeks before the average last frost of the year. That means its time to plant wildflower seeds! Our latest limited edition natural soap, Scent of Spring is wrapped in plantable seed paper – so I wanted to share a little post on the best way to plant those labels. The paper is compostable, so don’t worry about putting it in the soil, it will just decompose along with the other organic matter round it. The soap itself will clean your hands right up after planing and playing in the dirt. It contains a sprinkling of poppyseeds which will help exfoliate and scrub all of the dirt out of your fingers & toes. The scent of this limited edition is one of my favorites so far! Its so sweet and fresh – it smells like spring is in the air.
Its quick and easy to plant the paper – just dig a shallow hole and place it underneith 1/8″ of soil. Water the area thoroughly. If you are planting outside, make sure its in a sunny area, if you are planting the flower inside the house – place the pot in a sunny corner. keep moist during germination. This paper contains an array of wildflowers, if you plant some – please send us pictures of what comes up!
This year we also planted a peach tree, and a magnolia – both which I would really like to see thrive during the hot Texas summer. I set an alarm on my phone to remind me to water the trees twice a week. Its been raining this past week, so I have been ignoring the reminders, but hopefully I planted them early enough to get a good start before the hot summer heat hits us.
